Help for Homeowners impacted by Covid-19 struggling to pay mortgage payments, property charges, and/or utility payments   https://homehelpnh.org/homeowners Struggling to pay mortgage payments, property charges, and/or utility payments? The Homeowner Assistance Fund provides assistance to eligible homeowners who have experienced a financial hardship during the COVID pandemic.

The Homeowner Assistance Fund provides financial assistance for New Hampshire homeowners who cannot pay their home mortgage, utilities, home insurance, association fees, and/or property taxes during the pandemic. The program is expected to be available through at least 2022.

NH Homeowner Assistance Fund is a federally funded homeowner assistance program through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and the Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery (GOFERR). It is administered by New Hampshire Housing, who will be accepting and processing applications.

Eligible homeowners must:

Have experienced a COVID related reduction in income or increase in household expense after January 21, 2020.

Own and occupy the property as their primary residence.

Have incomes of less than 125% of Area Median Income.

Homeowner Assistance Fund covers:

Mortgage Loan Reinstatement - maximum benefit $20,000*

Property Charges Default Resolution - maximum benefit $20,000*

Utility/Internet Payment Assistance - maximum benefit $3,000*

*Total assistance per households is $20,000 for all programs combined

Applications for general assistance are located at Town Hall (85 Main Street) and online.  Unless it is an emergency, applicant's need to complete the application to the best of their ability and gather all the required documentation, then contact the Welfare Director to schedule an appointment.  If you have an emergency that was unexpected, contact the Welfare Director at 603-435-6773 Ext. 3 or via email, at btheriault@pittsfieldnh.gov, and start the application if possible.  You will be contacted as soon as possible and directed on what steps to take, for assistance.

***MARCH 15, 2021 New Hampshire Emergency Rental Assistance Program open***

This program is for rental assistance for tenants who have been impacted financially due to Covid-19.  Opened March 15, 2021 and applications are available online at www.CAPNH.org (and a printable form is also be available  at Town Hall and I will attach one on the website as well).  See the attached news release from 03/16/2021..

This program is only for rental assistance.  This program allows for a landlord to apply on behalf of the tenant as well as the tenant applying by themselves.  If the landlord applies on behalf of the tenant, the tenant has to also be involved in the application process.
