NEX TREX Recycling Program has Ended! As some of you know, three local organizations, Pittsfield Elementary School PTO/Victory Workers 4H/South Pittsfield Community Club, have been participating in the NexTrex Recycling Program for the last year and a half. During this time, the community has helped recycle over 3000lbs of the “non-recyclable” plastic(grocery bags, shrink wrap, etc). Each organization earned a Trex built bench. We would like to thank the community for their support of this challenge and working to keep the environment clean.  Unfortunately, the program has made significant changes to the rewards program. Due to the amount of time this program takes, collecting the plastic, weighing the plastic, taking pictures of said collection and weight, it has become task where the time and labor have become too much. The bins have been removed from the collection sites. Please do not drop off any plastic to the locations, they are not responsible for this program.  Again, over 3000lbs collected, THANK YOU!!!

The Josiah Carpenter Library’s newest StoryWalk® features this story by David Shannon, which is now available for your viewing pleasure. Follow this story around town as you find out what happens to Camilla as she refuses to eat her favorite food in fear of being laughed at by her classmates. Enjoy the colorful illustrations as Camilla’s body transforms into rainbow stripes, checkerboard patterns, stars, and even sprouts roots, feathers, and fur. Her mutations become more bizarre as specialists attempt numerous cures. Book pages have been mounted in windows throughout the downtown area. Tie up your walking shoes, grab your water bottle and enjoy a stroll through our beautiful little town. Families can pick up a map from the mailbox that is attached to the community bulletin board at Dustin Park. As you return to the library on Main Street to read the last page of the book, stop in to pick up your FREE GIFT! For more books about favorite foods, making friends and being yourself, visit the library Mondays and Thursdays from 10-6, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12:30-6, and Saturdays 10-2 to check out our selections.
