Administration
The administrative staff at the Town Hall is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Town government and providing essential services to residents. Working under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, the staff support municipal operations through administration, finance, records management, tax collection, welfare assistance, planning and zoning administration, and assessing services.
The Board Administrator serves as the chief administrative officer for the Board of Selectmen, coordinating the activities of the Selectmen's Office, supporting Board initiatives, facilitating communication among Town departments and officials, and helping to ensure the efficient delivery of municipal services. The Finance Manager serves as the Town's chief financial officer and oversees budgeting, accounting, payroll, financial reporting, purchasing, grants, and other financial operations to ensure responsible stewardship of public funds and the Town's long-term financial stability.
The staff also provides administrative support to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and other land use boards, assisting with meeting administration, public notices, record keeping, and the implementation of local land use regulations. Assessing services are provided through the Town's contracted assessing firm, with administrative support and coordination provided by Town staff to assist property owners and ensure the accurate administration of the property tax system.
The Town Clerk/Tax Collector's Office provides a wide range of services to residents, including maintaining official Town records, administering elections, processing vehicle and boat registrations, issuing dog licenses, vital records, and collecting property taxes and other municipal revenues. The Welfare Director administers the Town's General Assistance program in accordance with New Hampshire law, assisting eligible residents experiencing temporary financial hardship and connecting them with available resources and support services.
