The Pittsfield Welfare Department is located in the Town Hall, at 85 Main Street.

Unless it is a true emergency situation, clients are required to make an appointment in advance, in order to meet with the Welfare Director.  Walk-in appointments are strictly for emergency cases only.   

Applications are available in the lobby during Town Hall business hours. They are in the Pink Folder in the rack on the wall by the tax map table.

If you are seeking an appointment, or have specific questions for the Welfare Director, call (603) 435-6773 x10 (Please remember to leave a message and be sure to include your name, number, and a brief reason for your call.  Be sure to leave your phone number as clearly as possible.  If you do not receive a call back within one business day, please call back, as there is a chance that the return phone number was not clear enough to return the call)

If you are looking for general information regarding town assistance, call (603) 435-6773 x18 for recorded information explaining the process to apply ~ Do not leave messages on Extension #18, as it is not checked for messages.

 The Pittsfield Food Pantry

The Pittsfield Food Pantry is available to anyone who needs food for themselves or their family.

The Food Pantry is located at 55 Barnstead Road, Bay 6 (near Joy Church)
Hours: Monday: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Thursday: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Please call (603) 435-7300 during open office hours to arrange for emergency pick-up of food items.  We are not able to provide delivery.

Want to Help?

The Pittsfield Food Pantry welcomes volunteers that would like to lend a hand in the food pantry or donations of any type or  size including cash donations to help people right here in our community. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, so all funds are tax deductible. Food donations that can be valued are also tax deductible. Even a single item donation can help a  family in need.
