In Person Services

Please have your driver's license available

If you are a NEW RESIDENT, we need proof of residency and a residency statement completed in person at the Town Clerk's office. Accepted forms of proof include:

• Copy of lease agreement
• Letter from property owner
• Copy of utility bill
• Copy of tax bill for legal residence

New Vehicle/Trailer Registrations:

• 2000 or newer, require either the Title made out to you, OR a certificate of origin, OR an application for Title. RSA 261:
• 1999 and older, require a bill of sale AND an old title, OR a copy of the most recent NH registration, OR a NH VIN verification form no. TDMV 19A completed by NH Police or NH inspection station. RSA 261:2
• If you are not the primary registrant and are registering a car for someone else, in addition to the information listed above you must also have written permission from the primary registrant to perform the registration on their behalf. The letter must have the new vehicle information as well as the plate type requested by the registrant. The form can be found at the bottom of this page.

Renewing Vehicle Registrations

• Previous registration and/or NH Driver’s License is required. RSA 261:148 IV
• Vehicles may also be renewed online  by clicking on the yellow "e-reg" link above, or through the "Auto Registration" tab on the home page of this website.

Transferring Vehicle Registrations

• You must have the current registration of the vehicle you are transferring from.
• A copy of the current registration may be purchased for a cost of $18.00.
• NO transfer will be done without it!

Documentation needed for the vehicle you are transferring to:

• 2000 and newer, either the Title made out to you, OR, an application for Title, OR Certificate of Origin. RSA 261:3
• 1999 and older, require a bill of sale AND an old title, OR a copy of the most recent NH registration, OR a NH VIN verification form no. TDMV 19A completed by NH Police or NH inspection station. RSA 261:2

Boat Registrations

New registrations: a completed Boat Registration Form 

Renewal: a completed Boat Registration Form or a signed copy of the previous year registration
